This small cottage was built in the 1960s but had not really been touched since. Our clients needed a great deal more space and gave us just 16 weeks to complete an ambitious programme of expansion.
Included in the plans were two extensions. The first comprised building a bedroom on the first floor over the garage and converting half of the garage area into a utility room. The second was to be on the site of the existing conservatory, which we demolished and removed to make way for a kitchen, lounge and dining room.
Within the existing building the alterations involved converting the existing pantry to provide a new WC, completely rewiring and installing a new heating and hot water system. We demolished several Internal walls and inserted the steelwork to provide the required support, creating a large open living space and enlarge the hallway.
We installed the new units in the kitchen and utility room, including fitting solid walnut worktops, and finally decorated throughout to a perfect finish.
The total transformation was complete with a day to spare and the clients were over the moon with what we achieved and are now enjoying their newly converted home.
